How it all started

Atelier Oostkamp, 1990

It all began in 1949 with a modest mercery shop in Oostkamp, a small haven for sewing essentials in a world recovering from the second world war. As the years went by, the store transformed into a sophisticated fashion store for women: Decotex, which was established in 1962. Next to the high-end brands shown on the catwalks in fashion capitals like Paris and Milan, the boutique carried their very own couture label, Anne Belin. The brand Anne Belin found its niche in crafting sophisticated and stylish women’s clothing, blending refinement with commercial appeal, made out of the best fabrics. Their atelier, situated just a few streets from the store, ensured the highest attention to detail.

With its second generation, the family business tapped into bridal wear and later on, in 2008, a new line was added, dedicated exclusively to -custom made- eveningwear. A | LIGNÉ was born.

Recognizing the value and uniqueness of this built up expertise and know-how, motivated the third generation to continue the story. Emma joined in 2023, following in the footsteps of her grandmother Dorothéa, her father Jan and his cousin Filip. Her commitment lies in modernizing and growing the brand while ensuring the best quality and a production that remains rooted in Belgium.
